This piece was inspired by the ever existing lava channels created by the flow of magma over the land over time. Informed by the process of metal casting, I wanted to include the graphite mold in the piece itself, to contrast the container next to contained. Many thanks to Ethan Wittenberg for CNC milling the graphic block and Christopher Palmer for open face casting the aluminum parts into the graphite mold.
